God rearranged my brain this week...
Zebulun is God's 3rd tribe - Unique in many ways. Deep connection to the sea and commerce. Risky business.
Most of us are landlubbers - the uncertainty of the sea (and commerce) makes us nervous.
Not Zeb - He's wired to deal with that.
God sets the first three tribes to stand and watch at His front door, to be the first to worship and the first to march out for war.
He's showing us a three-fold cord of core traits and actions that are non-negotiables if we're to be a part of the grand move of His Kingdom in the earth.
This week He sort of blew my mind open by showing me the tribe of Zebulun in a way that I had never understood.
Scripture is clear that Judah always goes first into battle and is the 'tip of the spear' in the fight to take the land.
But the 'going out' and commerce aspects of Zebulun linked with Issachar's 'knowing the times and what to do,' shifts the key from taking the land to securing it.
The 3rd tribe in God's mix becomes the tip of spear to SECURE the land.
There's an interesting parallel in the Trinity: The 'tip of the spear' in the work of the Triune God in the earth is the 3rd person - The Holy Spirit. (See John 16 if you disagree.)
So while Judah goes first and carries the DNA of worship, warfare and hosting The Presence, it is Issachar that gets the download and Zebulun who moves on it.
Zeb make the connections across the seas and states: Establishing points of commerce and the supply lines for the Kingdom.
This is why Deut. 33 states that Zebulun and Issachar will summon the nations to the mountain. I think that's still God's plan.
As I reread this brief summary, I realize you may not catch the significance of what this means. Sorry.

Meanwhile, above is a checklist that is draws down from core traits demonstrated in the first 3 tribes.
It's a way to open the question to see if the 3-stranded cord is working in you. And to hold it up to check on any work of God of which you are a part.
Where are the gaps in us - and out there?
We always knew that God had a plan to summon the nations to The Mountain. This just shifts how we see that happening and it opens the question as to how we will deploy accordingly.
