Are you ready for the storm?

Storms are raging...physical, political, social...emotional, relational, financial, and spiritual.

Some are national or international. Some are just plain upclose and personal.

All are manifesting a churn in the heavenlies.

Many people are desperate for a new beginning.

Good news. We're in a transition right now - turning into a season of new beginnings.

But....

...there's a bridge to cross - a process that God set to prepare us to move into the new.

If you want that new beginning you'll need to get aligned in that process.

There's a Presence and Rest factor that we enter: A requirement to move into the new.

A renewing of the deep heart-to-heart connection that must be reestablished or we will miss the authentic new beginning and simply head out on a direction that is not of God.

Not all new beginnings are of God.

Some may be OUR own doing.

Been there, done that! We know where that road ends.

This month is a call to turn/return into the deep heart connection with the One who IS in you and with you.

Are we attending to His Presence or is He like a guest, invited and present but ignored?

There is an extraordinary level of rest that we need. The turmoil of the last season has tossed most like a cork on an angry ocean.

But there remains a Rest in the Presence - so very, very close to you, even now; yet so far away when we're distracted.

Listen to the song and the sound of this time of transition.

Walk into a consistent awareness of His Presence so your heart can sing the chorus,

'I am ready for the storm. Yes, Lord, ready.'

Find that place of Rest once more so you can start the new.

Stephen

Ready For the Storm By: Dougie MacLean (with apologies for additions and changes by me.)

The waves crash in and the tide rolls out It's an angry sea but there is no doubt That the lighthouse will keep shining out To warn the watchful sailor The lightning strikes and the wind cuts cold Through the sinner’s bones to the sailor's soul Till there's nothing left that he can hold Except the rolling ocean Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready I am ready for the storm. I'm ready for the storm Oh, give me mercy for my dreams 'Cause every confrontation seems To tell me what it really means To be this watchful sailor And when the sky begins to clear The Son He melts away my fear and I cry a silent weary tear For those that never loved Him. Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready I am ready for the storm. I'm ready for the storm The distance it is no real friend And time will take its time And you will find that in the end It brings you me, a watchful sailor And when you take me by the hand You love me Lord, you love me And I should have realized I had no reasons to be frightened Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready I am ready for the storm, I'm ready for the storm And when I saw you walk the sea I knew that it was meant to be That I’d call you and you’d call me To join you on that water So I stepped outside that wooden boat Was never sure that I could float But gazing at your face so clear I knew that you would draw me near Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready I am ready for the storm, I'm ready for the storm But as the waves and wind blew strong I felt my faith was not so strong I started sinking deep, Into a dark and deadly sleep I cried your name as I went down Your hand thrust in and grabbed me round You saved me in my mess Now I’ve found my perfect rest Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready Oh I am ready for the storm. Yes Lord, ready I am ready for the storm, I'm ready for the storm.
