Abiding DRIVES Deciding

We have tens of thousands of thoughts each day, spinning around upon whatever we set our attention.
The decisions we make flow from those focal points: our focus WILL own us.

During this 4th month, Moses was pressed in the Presence while Aaron was plied by the pressure.
Where they chose to abide would drive what they decide: Grace and Glory, calf and calamity followed.

Today's idolatry battle is for your attention: Every app, program, advertisement, and alert is designed to get and control your attention.
Keller warns us, 'whatever controls us is our lord* (idol).

Do not underestimate the gravitational force of these unseen idols that are frequently buried beneath spiritual veneers of being helpful, staying informed, or harmless amusement.
Underneath them is usually THE idol of SELF wrapped in desires for approval, comfort, power, and control.

The competition for our attention is ramping up in intensity and variety: It pulls our focus, directs our feelings, affects our decisions.
As the battle rages, we must be increasingly diligent to guard our eyes, thoughts, and focus and be more intentional to set our minds on 'the things above with Christ.'
In the ten thousands of thoughts you'll have today, decide to have them abide in Him.
That will drive the things you decide and, like Moses and Aaron, Kingdom consequences will follow.
