Focal Points: Flourish, Flounder, or Fail

On Monday, I was speaking with the Lord and wrestling with the pressures of expectations.
I heard Him say, "These are your ‘wind and waves’ that want to break your focus upon me and take you down into the depths of your sea.
"Your focus upon Me makes those irrelevant."

He continued, "The wind and waves did not go away when Peter walked on the water: They simply didn’t matter anymore as to where he was going and how he was getting there.
"This is how you must learn to walk through your assignments.

"There will be challenges and threats and distractions. They will not go away but they will not matter.
"Focus all of you on all of Me."
Last night we examined Peter's wet water walk, Jairus' dead daughter, Stephen's face full/face off, and Shad, Mico, Abed's turn in the furnace.
Their focal points determined the final outcome and gave them the power to view the crazy clutter around them as IRRELEVANT.
Got 'wind and waves' in your life?
We are awash in information, sensory overload, and emotional atmospheric churn.
AND yet we are summoned by the Lord out of the boat on assignments that may appear downright insane.
He IS faithful and His compelling call provides the power to water walk.
Our determination to stay on point, focused upon Him and His call, will give us the power to identify and declare that the rest of the mess is irrelevant.
Indeed, we might flounder a bit, but we WILL flourish and not fail.
Stephen
