Meet God on Your Threshing Floor

Solomon began the Temple this second month on the threshing floor bought by his father.
That purchase is tied to David's greatest sin and failure at the cost of 70,000 lives.

How stunning it is that God uses that very place to establish His Presence for worship.
There is a church in Jerusalem built on the site where Peter was sifted when he denied Jesus three times: It's called St. Peter of the Cock Crow.

That spot marked the threshing floor for Peter but the process was not complete until the Lord ran him through Q & A at a seaside breakfast this month.
With relentless tenderness Jesus confronts him with a 3-fold query and then follows up each time with a promotion and new directives.

Do you see the pattern? It is at the threshing floor where things come to a head AND it is upon that which Kingdom is built.
This is true for us as well: At our threshing floor Jesus runs us through Q & A so things are broken open, crushed, separated, exposed, and sifted.

But it is at those very places where He will build worship and establish Kingdom.
Pretty sure none of us wants a permanent memorial built to mark the place of our greatest failures. (Hmmm... St Stephen the Doubter?)
Yet I'm convinced that David and Peter would say that it was at those very places where Grace increased and His Glory exploded.
Take time with the Lord this month and let Him reveal your threshing floor. (He may want you to go back to the place/memory of your 'greatest failure.')
Doubtless, there are still things to expose, sort, and remove.
Then get ready: That threshing floor is a new foundation for His Glory.
