Repentance As Our Life-style

John wrote believers, 'If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time...' I John 1

Repentance is to be our LIFE-style so we fully embrace the truth and access ALL the freedom for which Christ died.  

Bear in mind that there are two levels which need attending: Foundational and maintenance.

Too many believers know that they are 'saved' but continue to be hamstrung by some past event/issue/sin that pounds them down: That's a foundational issue.  

The fact of the matter is that many people simply don't know how to repent. Don't presume you do. 

To address that, Kim Johnson took us into a pragmatic approach to dig down and identify hidden places/sins that are likely culprits in that fog of bondage.  

It's not complicated, but it does take time, prayer, focus, openness, and thoroughness with a willing and contrite heart. 

There are also 'maintenance' issues where this applies - the day to day cleaning of our conscience before the Lord so that the enemy has no access / claim against us. (Eph 4)  

This is not burdensome, but freeing. 

Think about how you drive a car: You make constant adjustments to stay on the road: A little left, right, slower, faster. (Okay - a lot faster.)  

In essence, those course corrections are acts of repenting so you realign with the road. 

Your focus is not about avoiding the guardrails - it's about advancing on the way.  

Bottom line:  You will not advance without repenting.
