Will you blow off your appointment with the King?
We've been confused and ripped off for years....
We thought the whole of God's plan and blessing was the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus.
NOPE.
To be clear: Without those events ALL our hope is in vain - we're COMPLETELY lost.
BUT.....
It's not the end of the process; it's not the totality of the good news.
Jesus was so clear that after His death, resurrection AND ascension - there was more to come.
This IS that time....again!
Getting out of Egypt by the Blood of the lamb was not the end.
They were saved FROM Pharaoh IN ORDER TO meet the Presence of God at Sinai; to encounter His voice and His fire on the appointed day in the 3rd month.
To cleave to the Lord in a Covenant, as a marriage.
Likewise, the disciples were saved FROM sin and the devil IN ORDER TO meet the Presence of God by the Spirit in the fire and to align their voice with His.
So on the same appointed day of the year, the fire came and the Word was released. First to be written in stone but later to be written on hearts.
God brings us back to these days not as 'anniversaries' to recall things: Rather, they are appointments so that each year we enter anew into God's pattern of MORE.
In each new cycle we can see more areas where we can LEAVE our sins by The Blood.
We then CLEAVE afresh and more deeply by the Spirit.
Then we are drawn even deeper to BECOME ONE as we abide and dwell in His glory as the holy God and He in our midst.
This is the stunning pattern of the appointed times of Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles.
Please note: This isn't about us a 'lone rangers.' We are set apart, saved, blessed, filled and brought together by His Spirit so that we too would be a blessing to the nations.
And to be that blessing we need ALL God wants for us: Why else would Jesus have them wait 50 days after His resurrection, and even 10 days after His ascension?.
This 3rd month of God's calendar is also linked to the tribe of Zebulun, often known as the tribe of commerce - those 'at home' in the marketplace.
This reminds us that the power from on high was to enable us to go into the nations - most of our own nation is to be found in the marketplace.
This Sunday IS the day of Pentecost:
SO WHAT?!?!?!
So....God will engage this time to see if we have open and hungry hearts.
"DO YOU WANT MORE?"
Lay hold these words of Jesus,
"If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" (Lk. 11:13)
