Do you understand this Appointed Time that contains the Crucifixion and Resurrection?

Most Christians are keenly aware of this week and focus upon the death and resurrection of Jesus. So, so, so critical.

We cannot really begin to comprehend the weight of these matters. The pivot point of all life.

But still we miss something.

Too many see this time as almost a 'wrap' on the divine journey that God has for them. If they align in some mental recognition or assent of these things, all is well with their soul and then their life is theirs to do with as they please.

But God has linked this time to crossing over into the NEXT part of the journey:

It's not an 'end' - it's the passage into more.

Last night we looked more at the somewhat odd fact that the events of the crucifixion and resurrection are arranged by God during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

The feast doesn't lead to it, like the tradition of 'Lent' - Rather it holds it all together and extends it out.

There's something important about 'leaven' and unleavened bread that frames this.

Why? Why that focus? Why make it a 7 day feast of unleavened bread? Why not the feast of Passover? What are we missing?

Clearly there is the aspect of Jesus as the Unleavened Bread seen in the modern production of Mazha.

But why a 7 day feast? Aren't we done once the Resurrection occurs?

There's something more.

Last night we looked at 5 things we should see biblically about leaven and unleavened bread - how it works, why it works and it's relevance to us and the church.

Leaven and unleavened bread are biblically linked to...

  • Our response to God's sovereign and unearned 'suddenly' on our behalf

  • Our remembrance and a sign upon our hands and heads so that the Word is in our mouths

  • A warning about hypocrisy and the traditions of men

  • An alert to deal with things in us because it is NOT who we ARE

  • A warning to the church of how a little that's hidden can 'puff us up'

Bottom line: There's a response factor to prepare us for the next part of the journey. It is our response to the unmerited gift of God.

Watch the replay and let God speak to you about the operation of leaven.

Last night the 'officers and crew' The Flight Deck commissioned Gail and me to go to Cuba this Monday.

Many encouraging words, pictures, declarations and scriptures. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So, so critical. None of us can go this alone. All of us need to be 'sent' to our assignments. All of us need to be supported and connected by relationships and prayer.

It's how Kingdom works when we ARE one Body.

Enjoy a deep awareness of the gift of God to you through Jesus The Messiah - the Lamb of God who rules and reigns and now leads us into what's next.
