Too rushed to read this? Are you being ripped off?
There is a culture-war being waged both in and outside of church.
An organized and orchestrated attempt to distort, contort and deprive you of the fullness of your inheritance granted through the conception and incarnation of Jesus, the Messiah.
There are riches that most followers of Jesus miss: Old treasures which are part of your legitimate lineage.
And then there are distractions and distortions to gut the core impact of this season and to minimize your attention to Him in time, consciousness, and energy.
Our oft made depiction of Jesus' conception and birth in serene and still settings distorts the detail that this was, and is, a divine invasion - the tip of the spear.
An invasion that so enraged the enemy that he loosed a cruel counteroffensive near the landing zone - a blood bath against the innocents.
We see this rage resurface during the Feast of Dedication in John 10 ('Hanukkah' - happening now.)
The battle blazes and His life is at stake...again.
Darkness always hates the Light - wherever and whenever He manifests.
Hates? Yes. Overcomes? No.
Light breaks into darkness now.
We are those commanded to incarnate His LIFE and LIGHT in all that we are, all that we do, and how we do it.
How is our attitude under the current seasonal pressure?
Do we do good only to those who can do us good?
Are we actually distinct from any other people of the world?
Walk in wonder and peace in the midst of the market mayhem and commercial crush that marks our culture...in and out of the church.
Sorry to tell you, but Jesus will not be used as an afterthought or add-in to justify distorted priorities and activities.
He is the CORE and we represent that with everyone we encounter and everywhere we go.
Celebrate His Light-Life IN you and THROUGH you.
EVERYTHING else will just have to take a backseat.
