The Bride or Bridezilla? Time to Restore the Core.

It's a constant temptation for the Bride of Christ to become obsessed with cosmetic appearances rather than core strength.

But God is Restoring the Core.

He wants His Bride vibrant, flexible, fearless, fun, feisty and fit to fight.

Scripture does not hold back the details when the Bride behaves like bridezilla.

Linked to this month is one such clear warning in Ezekiel that demonstrates both the cause and the consequences. (Chap. 8-11.)

The first warning is about the worship of an 'image.'

An 'image that provokes to jealousy' was set in the Temple and God's response is both right and rigorous.

Since we know that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, we must first look within on this issue.

Is there an 'image' that has 'first place' in us? An image of ourselves or what we want or dream of or long for?

Is there one of your family, career, ministry, or what not, that actually 'holds court' and takes precedence?

Then one step further: What of church governmental structures that you're in or around?

Is there greater concern with image, attendance, and cosmetic appearances than in the restoration of core strength?

The consequences shown in Ezekiel are clear: The Glory departs.

Perhaps that is why some 200 US churches will close this week alone.

We do well to remember that in Ezekiel God pulled His Glory from a wine skin that He Himself designed and resourced.

Hear what the Spirit is saying to the church.

Our mandate is to help Restore the Core - be it personal or corporate: To see the full manifestation of the Bride moving in the earth.

So in this month to turn and return, take all this to heart and then take it all to Him.

Attend to His Word in His time and He'll attend to you in yours.

Stephen
